When you look up a patient to schedule it defaults to the alphabetically first case ( if they have more than one case) even if it has been discharged. This allows the patient to be checked in in the old case and then a missing note is created because the note is created in the active case vs the discharged case creating an error and a lot of extra work. You should not be able to schedule a discharged or inactive case without an extra step to make sure that is what you want to do. We have used other EMRs and never had anything like this occur.
Hello, and thanks for your feedback! Preventing the scheduling of inactive/discharged cases without a confirmation is a feature that we don’t currently have planned, but may consider in the future. We’ll make sure to let you know if this feature is delivered.

Very difficult not having this feature to schedule inactive/discharged cases. This seems like it would be a simple update to prompt a choice to use a discharged case or not. Do we need to add an 'idea' for this?
