Repeatedly, insurance companies will refer to the claim # of the CMS-1500 that they received on ERAs & EOBs to respond with payments, refunds, denials or recoupments. They don't always include a complete patient name or service date however making it difficult to identify the claim they are referencing. There does not seem to be a way to search the system by these claim numbers despite how prevalent they are. It is extremely inconvenient to have to call the insurance company about it every time only a claim # is listed. It would help immensely if a simple search for these claim numbers can be done within the system.

We have noticed that the ERAs coming into Therabill are missing the claim number that is on the original ERA and ERAs within their originating payer website. In Kareo, we were able to sort claims by this number and it increased the speed and efficiency of our billing. This seems like an easy addition and would add value that other products already do.
