When Medicare is to recoup money, they send a notification with "FB" for Forwarding Balance to notify us that the,  in the future, will be recouping money on a patient. Once money IS recouped, the ERA will list "WO", Withholding Offset. However, Therabill is NOT listing this information. Ive discovered that Medicare has sent us multiple " FB/forwarding balances"  but Therabill is posting it as if it was already reversed. This is causing issues with payment posting. Therabill is showing Medicare reversed payments when they actually have not.  Then later, Medicare really IS recouping their money and therefore, a reversal/recoupment is being posted TWICE.  Although Medicare is not truly recouping dollar amounts TWICE, reports arent matching with deposits and if youre a billing company and invoice the provider based off money posted, well, the provider is being invoiced for less than what they truly should be invoiced for (since duplicate reversal are posted, even if not in the same month). Considering this is very important information when dealing with Medicare and money and also considering Medicare DOES send the "FB/WO" information out in the 835 remit file, which I have confirmed with your own "835 File" option under ERA printing, Therabill should be posting this information. Unfortunately, although available in the '835 File' option under the print ERA area, it also pops up with the other 835 jargon. It should simply be available under the "Remittance Advice" or "Report" option.
