As of recent, BCBS has added Medicare Advantage claims in the state of KS - both of which are billed to the same payer ID. The Medicare Adv. plans are required to follow WPS Medicare part B rules when it comes to which rendering provider is on the claim. WPS Medicare puts the supervising PTs credentials on the claim when a PTA sees the patient - which is how the BCBS Medicare Adv. plans need to be billed. Commerical BCBS plans require the rendering provider to not include the supervising PTs credentials if a PTA is who treats the patient.
For us, this is an inconvient requirement because we don't/can't have two BCBS insurance companies in Therabill (one for commercial and one for Medicare plans). Therefore, we have to either have that setting on or off at all times and not case by case. Right now if we have a Medicare Adv. patient, it carries over the PTAs credentials to the claim because that is how the it's set in the insurance settings for BCBS of KS. What we would prefer is that we can switch that setting on/off case by case OR be able to add a totally new insurance company that has that setting turned off (mirrored exactly how WPS Medicare is set up) and map that only to the BCBS Medicare Advantage plans.
