We are starting to see patients for weakness due to having had COVID-19. The current codes that are in WebPT for this are not accurate for our type of treatment. The CDC released new ICD-10 codes for COVID-19 related illnesses which include Z86.16 (personal history of COVID-19) and J12.82 (pneumonia due to COVID-19. Please add these to WebPT so our documentation will reflect what is on the referral. Thank you.

We received a denial due to the ICD-10 code not showing up correctly. F80.81 was given by the Dr and the therapist could only pick R47.82 and the insurance denied on being unappreciated. It is very important to use the codes that the Dr sets in place for therapy. It would be awesome if a code was not available that a note can be put in that would allow us to add a diagnosis description.

The codes are scheduled be released tomorrow night, so they should be visible the morning of April 8th. Typically ICD-10 codes are added on October 1st each year, so these ones were out of the normal cycle. We recognized the need for the codes, but needed to work them into the current development process. I apologize for any difficulty this may have caused you and your team.

The sooner the better. I am having this same issue and it is going to be important to accurately chart/track patients experiencing post covid 19 PT related issues. Also I agree with the comment that these codes were made available since January. Why has it taken this long to get them into our documentation system?
