Instead of just switching to bold red print when an authorization on file is expired a pop up should also appear when the the patient chart is opened. Similar to when the Medicare PT threshold has been exceeded. The authorization should also show as expired when the number of allowed visits has been reached, the expiration date being the day of the last authorized visit.
From Pivot:
Ending authorizations- if all visits are used prior to the authorization date range, the system will act as if the auth is still valid. WebPT cannot recognize when a visit count is reached prior to the end date of the authorization.

There should be a pop up warning on the schedule asking "patient's auth is expired, or no auth on file for patient" prior to scheduling the patient. So at least the scheduler has to view and click to acknowldge this prior to scheduling the patient.

This would be a great function to have.

I think this is a great idea and would help our organization, as well.

This would be an awesome idea! The pop up should pop up in the middle of the page! Not allowing a patient to be checked in when auth is expired should be a feature too.

This would cut down on denials a lot.

I would also love to see this. It would be ideal if it happened too upon check in so that office staff is alerted right away.

The new layout for soap 2.0 makes noticing auths and appointments used not as convenient as it was in 1.0. Please make this more noticeable and add an alert

This would be wonderful. The auth expired should also be on each appointment that their auth is expired. This is a big loss for providers and having more aggressive flagging, notifications and auth reports could save providers money and time.

Agreed, and or to have a POP UP on the schedule so the front desk gets the pop up when trying to schedule with out auth/ past the auth exp date. That would help reduce the over scheduling tremendously.

I agree, and would also add an option to run an Expiring Authorization report only for patients with scheduled visits. It's hard to catch those when the report includes every patient not yet discharged but with no upcoming appointments.

This would be SOOO helpful!
